Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Intestinal flora transplantation live capsule is an oral microbial therapy consisting of live commensal bacteria derived from the gastrointestinal tract of healthy donors. Also known as fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in capsule form, it is designed to restore microbial diversity and correct dysbiosis in patients with various conditions, including metabolic and inflammatory disorders. In clinical studies conducted by Shantou Longhu People's Hospital, these capsules are being evaluated for their ability to improve glycemic control and reduce systemic inflammatory markers like TNF-α in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The mechanism involves the competitive exclusion of pathogens, production of beneficial metabolites such as short-chain fatty acids, and modulation of the host immune system.
