Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Intimeo is an oral probiotic dietary supplement designed to support and maintain the balance of the vaginal and urogenital microbiota. It contains a patented blend of four live Lactobacillus strains: Lactobacillus crispatus LBV88 (DSM 22566), Lactobacillus rhamnosus LBV96 (DSM 22560), Lactobacillus gasseri LBV150 (DSM 22583), and Lactobacillus jensenii LBV116 (DSM 22567), collectively known as the Astarte probiotic blend. Originally developed by HSO Health Care GmbH (later acquired by Chr. Hansen, which subsequently merged into Novonesis), the formulation is clinically documented to colonize the vaginal tract, lower vaginal pH, and inhibit the growth of pathogens such as Escherichia coli and Gardnerella vaginalis. It is marketed by Lagap in Switzerland and Frezyderm in Greece for the prevention and treatment of vaginal dysbiosis, bacterial vaginosis, and recurrent urinary tract infections.
