IntraOsseous BioPlasty (IOBP) is an orthobiologic surgical technique and combination product developed by Arthrex, Inc. for the treatment of symptomatic subchondral bone pathologies, such as subchondral cysts and bone marrow lesions. The procedure involves core decompression of the affected bone followed by the percutaneous injection of a biologic mixture consisting of autologous bone marrow concentrate (BMC) and an allograft scaffold, typically AlloSync Pure demineralized bone matrix (DBM). The BMC is processed using the Angel cPRP and Bone Marrow Processing System to concentrate osteogenic stem cells and osteoinductive growth factors. This combination provides a scaffold for physiologic bone remodeling and repair, targeting conditions like osteoarthritis, spontaneous osteonecrosis of the knee (SONK), and insufficiency fractures by delivering essential biological components directly to the site of bone insufficiency.
