Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Intratect is a human normal immunoglobulin (IVIG) solution for intravenous administration, developed and manufactured by Biotest. It consists of pooled polyclonal immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies extracted from human plasma, containing at least 96% IgG with a subclass distribution (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4) similar to that of native human plasma. Intratect is primarily indicated for replacement therapy in patients with primary immunodeficiency syndromes, such as common variable immunodeficiency and congenital agammaglobulinemia, as well as secondary immunodeficiencies in patients with severe or recurrent infections. It is also utilized for immunomodulation in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), Guillain-Barré syndrome, and Kawasaki disease. The product is available in 5% (50 g/l) and 10% (100 g/l) concentrations and is manufactured using high-pressure liquid chromatography and nanofiltration to ensure high purity and viral safety.
