Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This refers to a therapeutic protocol combining Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) with Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) aimed at reducing biological age and reversing age-related biomarkers. Developed by Circulate, Inc. in collaboration with Dr. Dobri Kiprov (Global Apheresis) and the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, the intervention involves removing a patient's plasma and replacing it with fluids and IVIG. IVIG is a biologic therapy composed of pooled human antibodies. The mechanism involves modulating the immune system, reducing chronic inflammation (inflammaging), and restoring youthful immune cell composition. A Phase 3 trial demonstrated a reduction in biological age (approximately 2.6 years) as measured by epigenetic clocks and multi-omics biomarkers.
