INV-001

INV-001 is a topically administered small molecule drug developed by Innovo Therapeutics for the prevention and treatment of post-surgical and trauma-induced scars, including hypertrophic scars and keloids. Its mechanism of action is inhibition of Heat shock protein 47 (Serpin H1), a key protein involved in collagen formation, transport, and extracellular secretion. By inhibiting Heat shock protein 47 (Serpin H1), INV-001 reduces excessive collagen production in fibroblasts without impairing wound healing. Phase 2 clinical trials have demonstrated significant scar reduction effects—most notably a 24.5% reduction in scar size at high dose after thyroidectomy—with no serious adverse events reported. The drug is being developed as a specialized topical ointment for scar suppression[1][3][8].
