Overview

INV-1120 is a highly selective, orally available small molecule antagonist of the prostaglandin E2 receptor subtype 4 (PTGER4; also known as EP4). By selectively binding to and inhibiting EP4, INV-1120 blocks the immunosuppressive effects of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) within the tumor microenvironment. This mechanism is believed to have both immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities, potentially enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. INV-1120 has demonstrated preliminary signs of antitumor activity and stable disease in early-phase clinical trials for advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. It is being developed by Ionova Life Science and has been studied both as a monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab (an anti-PD-1 antibody). Preclinical studies suggest synergy with immune checkpoint inhibitors and sEH inhibitors in models of pancreatic and liver cancer[1][3][5][8].
