Drug intelligence / Profile preview
INV-2821 is a small molecule inhibitor of Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 2 (CDK2) currently in preclinical development by Ionova Life Sciences for the treatment of solid tumors. CDK2 plays a critical role in the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 to S phase and during S phase progression, by forming complexes with Cyclin E or Cyclin A. Overexpression or dysregulation of the CDK2/Cyclin E pathway is a known driver in several malignancies, including CCNE1-amplified ovarian and breast cancers. INV-2821 is designed to selectively inhibit CDK2 activity, thereby inducing cell cycle arrest and suppressing tumor cell proliferation.
