Drug intelligence / Profile preview
INV-7082 is a preclinical-stage small molecule antagonist of the Prostaglandin E receptor 4 (EP4), developed by Ionova Life Sciences for the treatment of inflammatory pain. The EP4 receptor is a high-affinity G protein-coupled receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and is heavily involved in the sensitization of nociceptors and the mediation of inflammatory responses. By selectively blocking EP4 signaling, INV-7082 aims to provide potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects while potentially avoiding the gastrointestinal and cardiovascular side effects associated with non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitors. The drug is currently undergoing preclinical evaluation to support its transition into clinical trials.
