INV-9956 is an orally available, selective small molecule inhibitor of cholesterol side chain cleavage enzyme (CYP11A1), under development for the treatment of advanced metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Its mechanism involves inhibiting CYP11A1, a key enzyme in steroidogenesis, which may disrupt androgen biosynthesis and thus target hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
