Overview

INV-9956 is an orally available, selective small molecule inhibitor of cholesterol side chain cleavage enzyme (CYP11A1), under development for the treatment of advanced metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The drug is being developed by Shenzhen Ionova Life Sciences and has reached Phase 1 clinical trials. Its mechanism involves inhibiting CYP11A1, a key enzyme in steroidogenesis, which may disrupt androgen biosynthesis and thus target hormone-refractory prostate cancer. The investigational therapy is administered orally and evaluated for safety, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, dose-limiting toxicity, and preliminary antitumor activity in adult patients with mCRPC[1][2][3][4][5][6].
