Overview

InVag is a vaginal probiotic medicinal product developed by IBSS Biomed SA (Biomed-Lublin). It is composed of three specific strains of live lactic acid bacteria: *Lactobacillus fermentum* 57A (25%), *Lactobacillus plantarum* 57B (25%), and *Lactobacillus gasseri* 57C (50%), with a total count exceeding 10^9 CFU per capsule. Formulated as a gelatin capsule for vaginal administration, InVag is indicated for restoring or supplementing the normal vaginal flora and maintaining a physiological pH. It is used in the treatment of vaginal microbiota disorders, such as bacterial vaginosis and aerobic vaginitis, and for the prevention of urogenital tract infections. The mechanism of action involves the colonization of the vaginal epithelium by these beneficial bacteria, which creates a protective barrier and produces lactic acid to inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms.
