Overview

Invaplex 50 is a nasally delivered subunit vaccine consisting of a macromolecular complex composed of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), IpaB, IpaC, and IpaD proteins derived from Shigella flexneri 2a. It is designed to prevent shigellosis, a leading cause of diarrheal disease worldwide. The vaccine works by stimulating both systemic and mucosal immune responses when administered intranasally. Clinical trials have shown it to be safe and capable of inducing robust antigen-specific intestinal IgA and antibody-secreting cell responses.
