Drug intelligence / Profile preview
InvivoLPrint-U is an innovative combination therapy and medical device platform developed by PhosPrint for bladder reconstruction in patients undergoing orthotopic neobladder surgery following radical cystectomy. The platform consists of autologous primary urothelial cells (AUROCELL-TX) that are isolated from patient biopsies, expanded in vitro, and then laser bioprinted in vivo directly onto the de-epithelialized intestinal submucosa during surgery. This in vivo bioprinting process utilizes a specialized laser bioprinter based on the Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) technique. The printed autologous urothelial cells proliferate and form a functional, stratified urothelium that acts as a urine-blood barrier, preventing common complications associated with traditional neobladder surgeries, such as recurrent infections, stone formation, and metabolic abnormalities.
