Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Invobenitug (formerly known as procizumab) is a first-in-class humanized IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody designed to selectively target and neutralize circulating dipeptidyl peptidase 3 (cDPP3). Under physiological conditions, DPP3 is an intracellular enzyme, but cellular injury and cell death cause it to leak into the bloodstream. Once in circulation, cDPP3 degrades key vasoactive peptides, particularly angiotensin II, leading to dysregulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), cardiovascular collapse, and organ failure. By inhibiting cDPP3, invobenitug restores RAAS homeostasis, stabilizes hemodynamics, and improves survival. Developed by 4TEEN4 Pharmaceuticals, invobenitug is being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of cardiogenic shock and septic shock.
