Drug intelligence / Profile preview
InvVax Universal Flu Vaccine is a preclinical-stage universal influenza vaccine candidate developed by InvVax. The vaccine utilizes an adenoviral vector to deliver 15 highly invariant influenza T-cell epitopes, including HLA-B27-restricted peptides, which were identified through a systematic functional genomic screen of the influenza genome. By targeting these invariant regions—which are critical to viral survival and cannot mutate without compromising viral fitness—the vaccine aims to induce broad, cross-protective cellular immunity against multiple influenza strains, including H1N1, H3N2, and highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1).
