IO120

IO120 (also known as IO102) is an investigational immune-modulatory peptide vaccine developed by IO Biotech. It consists of peptide sequences derived from Programmed cell death 1 ligand 2 (PD-L2) designed to stimulate and expand endogenous T cells that specifically recognize and eliminate PD-L2-expressing cells. Unlike traditional checkpoint inhibitors that block the PD-1/PD-L2 interaction, IO120 functions as a T-win vaccine, aiming to induce a cytotoxic immune response against immunosuppressive cells in the tumor microenvironment, such as M2 macrophages, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and tumor cells themselves. It is frequently evaluated as a dual-epitope vaccine in combination with the PD-L1 peptide vaccine IO103 to broaden the anti-tumor immune response and overcome resistance to standard checkpoint blockade therapies.
