Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YoSen (ЙоСен) is a mineral dietary supplement developed by Omnifarma Kyiv, formulated to provide a synergistic combination of iodine and selenium. It is primarily used for the prevention of iodine and selenium deficiencies, which are essential for maintaining normal thyroid function. Iodine serves as a fundamental building block for the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Selenium acts as a vital cofactor for the deiodinase enzymes (DIO1, DIO2) that convert T4 into its active form, T3, and for glutathione peroxidases that protect the thyroid gland from oxidative stress during hormone production. The product is available in specific dosages for adults, children, and pregnant women to support metabolic health and prevent conditions such as endemic goiter.
