Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Iodine povacrylex + isopropyl alcohol** is a fixed-dose topical antiseptic combination marketed as **DuraPrep** Surgical Solution. It contains iodine povacrylex providing 0.7% available iodine and isopropyl alcohol 74% w/w. The product is a film-forming iodophor preparation for patient preoperative skin disinfection; the alcohol component provides rapid antimicrobial activity, while iodine povacrylex dries into a water-insoluble protective film that supports persistent antimicrobial activity on intact skin. It is used before surgery to reduce skin microorganisms that can potentially cause skin infection.
