Overview

Iophendylate is a highly lipophilic iodine-containing agent used as a contrast medium, primarily for brain and spinal cord visualization. It was commonly used in myelography studies but has been largely replaced by water-soluble agents due to its potential to cause arachnoiditis and other complications.
