Drug intelligence / Profile preview
iosBio Nipah vaccine is an oral, thermally stable vaccine candidate designed to prevent Nipah virus (NiV) infection. Developed using iosBio's proprietary OraPro™ technology, the vaccine utilizes a non-replicating adenovirus vector genetically engineered to carry genetic material from the Nipah virus. Upon oral administration, the vector survives the acidic environment of the stomach and enters host cells to produce NiV proteins, thereby triggering a robust immune response involving both antibodies and T cells. A key feature of the OraPro platform is its thermal stability, allowing the vaccine to remain effective at temperatures up to 50°C, which simplifies distribution in regions without reliable cold chain infrastructure.
