Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The iosBio oral influenza vaccine is a thermally stable, oral vaccine candidate developed using the proprietary OraPro platform. This platform utilizes a non-replicating viral vector (typically Adenovirus) to deliver influenza antigens directly to the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). By targeting the mucosal immune system in the intestine, the vaccine is designed to induce both systemic (IgG) and mucosal (IgA) immune responses, potentially providing broader protection than traditional injectable vaccines. A key feature of the OraPro technology is its thermal stability, which allows the vaccine to be stored and distributed without the need for a cold chain, and its oral administration format eliminates the requirement for needles.
