IP-001 is a proprietary glycan polymer and a well-characterized variant of N-dihydrogalactochitosan developed as an immunostimulant for cancer therapy. It acts as both an antigen depot and a potent immune stimulant capable of inducing systemic antitumor immune responses when administered intratumorally following tumor ablation procedures such as thermal or laser ablation. The drug is designed to prolong the availability of tumor antigens released by ablation, facilitate recruitment and activation of antigen-presenting cells (APCs), increase uptake of tumor antigens into APCs, and trigger robust adaptive immune responses—particularly cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses with Th1 polarization. This mechanism aims to convert immunologically "cold" tumors into "hot" tumors that are more susceptible to immune attack, potentially leading to regression of both primary tumors and metastases. IP-001 is being developed primarily for advanced solid tumors including colorectal cancer, liver metastases/cancer, malignant melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, and other solid tumors[1][2][4][5][6].
