Overview
IP001 is a first-in-class single domain antibody (sdAb) being developed by Mesenkia Therapeutics as an antagonist of the Herpesvirus Entry Mediator (HVEM) signaling pathway. HVEM (also known as TNFRSF14) has been identified as a crucial mediator in the pathogenesis of glioblastoma, contributing to tumor growth and immune evasion. By blocking HVEM-mediated signaling, IP001 is designed to both inhibit tumor progression and stimulate the host's immune response against aggressive primary and recurrent glioblastoma. The therapy is currently in the preclinical stage and is based on collaborative research from Uppsala University and the University of Tokyo. Mesenkia Therapeutics received a US patent allowance for these novel HVEM antagonistic single domain antibodies in late 2025.
