IP2018

IP2018 is a small molecule monoamine reuptake inhibitor developed for the treatment of psychogenic erectile dysfunction (ED) and major depressive disorder, particularly in patients with comorbid depression and sexual dysfunction. It has a unique pharmacological profile, preferentially inhibiting serotonin reuptake followed by dopamine reuptake, with markedly less effect on noradrenaline reuptake. This mechanism differentiates it from existing antidepressants and ED drugs. Preclinical studies have shown antidepressive effects in animal models as well as positive effects on erectile function. Clinical trials have demonstrated that single oral doses of IP2018 can significantly increase penile tumescence and rigidity in a dose-dependent manner sufficient for intercourse, supporting its potential as a novel therapy for patients with depression-associated sexual dysfunction[2][3][5][6].
