Overview

Iparomlimab is a highly selective, humanized immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1). It functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1/2 pathway, thereby enhancing T-cell mediated anti-tumor immune responses. Iparomlimab has been developed both as a monotherapy and in combination with tuvonralimab (an anti-CTLA-4 IgG1 monoclonal antibody) for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The bifunctional combination, marketed under the brand name Zimbab and also known as MabPair or PSB205/QL1706, was conditionally approved in China in October 2024 for recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer following failure of platinum-based chemotherapy. The drug is being further investigated in multiple cancer types including nasopharyngeal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, small cell lung cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, triple negative breast cancer, and other solid tumors[3][5][8].
