Overview

QL1706 is a first-in-class bifunctional MabPair product developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical. It consists of a fixed-dose combination of two monoclonal antibodies: iparomlimab (an anti-PD-1 IgG4 antibody) and tuvonralimab (an anti-CTLA-4 IgG1 antibody) combined in a 2:1 ratio. By simultaneously blocking both the PD-1 and CTLA-4 immune checkpoint pathways, QL1706 aims to enhance anti-tumor immune responses with a potentially improved safety profile compared to traditional combinations of separate agents. Although some clinical trial records (e.g., NCT06011395) incorrectly refer to the combination as "iparomlimab and toripalimab," toripalimab is a distinct PD-1 inhibitor, and the CTLA-4 component of QL1706 is tuvonralimab. The drug has been investigated across various solid tumors, and in August 2023, China's NMPA accepted a New Drug Application (NDA) for QL1706 for the treatment of recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer.
