This combination therapy consists of iparomlimab and tuvonralimab (collectively known as QL1706) administered in conjunction with the chemotherapy agents gemcitabine and cisplatin (GC). QL1706 is a bifunctional MabPair product developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical that simultaneously targets the PD-1 and CTLA-4 immune checkpoint pathways to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside metabolic inhibitor that interferes with DNA synthesis, while cisplatin is a platinum-based agent that causes DNA cross-linking and apoptosis. This specific four-drug regimen is being evaluated as a first-line treatment for advanced intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) in clinical trials sponsored by Fudan University, aiming to provide superior efficacy over standard chemotherapy or single-checkpoint inhibitor combinations.
