Overview

IPCURE's caspase-2 inhibitor is a small peptidomimetic compound currently in the preclinical research and optimization phase for the treatment of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). Caspase-2 is a cysteine-aspartic acid protease that serves as a key mediator in cellular stress responses and apoptosis. In the context of NASH, caspase-2 has been identified as a critical regulator of the SREBP2 pathway, which governs lipid metabolism and contributes to lipotoxicity and hepatocyte death. By selectively inhibiting caspase-2, this therapeutic candidate aims to mitigate liver injury, inflammation, and fibrosis associated with the progression of fatty liver disease.
