ipentidone

Ipentidone is an atypical antipsychotic small molecule developed by CSPC Pharmaceutical Group (specifically its subsidiary CSPC Zhongqi Pharmaceutical Technology) for the treatment of schizophrenia. Structurally, it is a pentanone analog of iloperidone, characterized by a 1-[4-[3-[4-(6-fluoro-1,2-benzisoxazol-3-yl)-1-piperidinyl]propoxy]-3-methoxyphenyl]pentan-1-one structure. Like other second-generation antipsychotics, ipentidone functions as a multi-receptor antagonist, primarily targeting the dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. It has been evaluated in Phase II clinical trials in China (e.g., CTR20140090), where its efficacy, safety, and tolerability were compared against risperidone in adult patients with schizophrenia.
