Drug intelligence / Profile preview
iPepHANP is a novel nanotherapeutic consisting of a hyaluronic acid-based nanoparticle (HANP) conjugated to a specific peptide inhibitor (M7) that blocks the interaction between CD154 (CD40 ligand) and CD11b (Mac-1). Developed by researchers at Emory University, iPepHANP is designed to overcome the short in vivo half-life of soluble peptide inhibitors by preventing peptidase-mediated degradation and improving tissue-specific delivery. In preclinical models of transplantation, iPepHANP synergizes with CTLA-4Ig to prolong allograft survival, inhibit donor-reactive CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses, and promote sustained transplantation tolerance without the need for continuous immunosuppression.
