IPH 2101 is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR) on natural killer (NK) cells. By binding to KIR2DL1, KIR2DL2, KIR2DL3, KIR2DS1, and KIR2DS2 receptors on NK cells, it blocks inhibitory signals mediated by these receptors. This blockade prevents the inhibition of NK cell activity and enhances their ability to mediate anti-tumor cytotoxicity. The drug was developed primarily for hematological malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and multiple myeloma (MM). Clinical trials have shown that IPH 2101 can activate NK cells in patients with AML and MM and has demonstrated a good safety profile in early-phase studies[4][5][6][3][2][1].
