Overview

IPH 2301 is a novel monoclonal antibody developed by Innate Pharma that targets inhibitory Killer-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptors (KIR) on Natural Killer (NK) cells and a subset of T cells. As a second-generation anti-KIR therapeutic, it was designed to block the interaction between inhibitory KIRs (specifically KIR2DL1, KIR2DL2, and KIR2DL3) and their MHC class I ligands on tumor cells. This blockade prevents the transmission of inhibitory signals to the immune cells, thereby enhancing their ability to recognize and lyse malignant cells. The drug was part of a strategic anti-KIR portfolio licensed to Bristol Myers Squibb, following an earlier collaboration with Novo Nordisk. While IPH 2301 entered regulatory pre-clinical development, clinical efforts by the developers primarily focused on its related candidate, lirilumab (IPH 2102).
