Overview

IPH1101 (bromohydrin pyrophosphate, also known as Phosphostim) is a first-in-class small molecule phosphoantigen agonist that specifically targets and activates Vγ9Vδ2 T cells, a subset of gamma-delta (γδ) T cells. Developed by Innate Pharma, IPH1101 mimics natural phosphoantigens to stimulate the expansion and cytotoxic activity of these non-conventional lymphocytes against tumor cells. It was primarily investigated as an immunotherapeutic agent for hematological malignancies, including relapsed follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (fNHL) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). In clinical trials, it was typically administered in combination with low-dose interleukin-2 (aldesleukin) to sustain T-cell activation and rituximab to enhance antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Despite demonstrating biological activity and safety in Phase I/II trials, Innate Pharma discontinued the development program for IPH1101.
