Overview
**IPOVAC** is an investigational Vietnamese trivalent inactivated poliomyelitis vaccine developed for prevention of poliomyelitis. It contains inactivated poliovirus antigens representing poliovirus serotypes 1, 2, and 3 and is intended to induce neutralizing antibody responses against each serotype without using live virus. IPOVAC was evaluated in a randomized dose-escalation Phase 2 study in Vietnamese children, in which three subcutaneous doses given at four-week intervals were compared with Sanofi Pasteur's IMOVAC-POLIO vaccine.
