Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IPVAX is an enhanced inactivated poliovirus vaccine (eIPV) developed and distributed by Boryung Biopharma in South Korea, utilizing bulk vaccine material imported from the Netherlands Vaccine Institute (NVI). It is a trivalent vaccine containing inactivated strains of poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3. The vaccine is indicated for active immunization to prevent poliomyelitis (polio) and is typically administered as a three-dose primary series at 2, 4, and 6 months of age via intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Clinical data indicates high immunogenicity with 100% seroconversion for all three types and a safety profile comparable to other WHO-prequalified inactivated polio vaccines.
