IPX643 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of the **NLRP3 (NOD-like receptor pyrin domain-containing protein 3)** inflammasome. It is currently being developed by **Hefei China Resources Novartis Pharmaceutical**, a joint venture between **Novartis** and **China Resources Pharmaceutical Group**, for the treatment of various **inflammation-driven diseases**. The NLRP3 inflammasome is a multi-protein complex that plays a critical role in the innate immune response by triggering the maturation and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-18. Overactivation of this pathway is implicated in the pathogenesis of numerous chronic inflammatory conditions. IPX643 is currently in **Phase 1** clinical development in China, where it is being evaluated for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
