IQP-0410

IQP-0410 (also known as SJ-3366) is a small molecule pyrimidinedione compound developed as an anti-HIV therapeutic agent. It possesses a unique dual mechanism of action, functioning as a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) at sub-nanomolar concentrations and as a viral entry inhibitor at nanomolar concentrations. The drug primarily targets HIV reverse transcriptase, while its secondary mechanism involves the inhibition of HIV entry through a conformational cell surface target. Developed initially by Samjin Pharmaceutical and later by ImQuest Pharmaceuticals, IQP-0410 is intended for the treatment of HIV-1 infection, including multi-drug resistant strains. It has demonstrated high potency with an exceptionally high therapeutic index and has been formulated in sustained-release delivery systems such as transdermal patches.
