Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IQP-AE-103 is a proprietary, orally administered weight loss intervention composed primarily of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) pod powder and inulin. It is designed as a natural agent to aid in weight management for overweight and moderately obese adults. The formulation leverages the fat-binding properties of soluble dietary fibers from okra and inulin to reduce calorie intake, decrease absorption of dietary fat, and promote satiety. Clinical studies have demonstrated that high-dose IQP-AE-103 leads to significant reductions in body weight, body fat, waist circumference, and feelings of hunger compared with placebo over 12 weeks. Additionally, it has shown beneficial effects on lipid metabolism and positive modulation of gut microbiota composition—specifically increasing Akkermansia muciniphila abundance while reducing Firmicutes—among responders who lost at least 5% body weight[1][2][6][7]. No significant adverse events have been reported.
