Iradyn

Iradyn is an intra-articular medical device (filler) composed of polymerized polynucleotides (PDRN), specifically developed for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. It functions as a viscosupplement, leveraging the hydrophilic and polyanionic properties of the polynucleotide chains to bind water molecules, thereby providing a moisturizing and lubricant effect within the joint. This physical action restores the viscoelasticity of the synovial fluid, reduces mechanical stress, and decreases friction, which results in significant relief of pain and improved joint mobility. Upon enzymatic degradation, the product releases nucleotides into the synovial cavity, which maintain the moisturizing effect and may interact with cellular receptors to promote tissue repair.
