irinotecan + sunitinib

Irinotecan + sunitinib is an investigational combination therapy consisting of two small molecule drugs with distinct mechanisms of action, evaluated primarily in advanced or refractory solid tumors, including malignant glioma and metastatic colorectal cancer. Irinotecan is a topoisomerase I inhibitor that interferes with DNA replication in cancer cells, leading to cell death. Sunitinib is a multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks several receptor tyrosine kinases involved in tumor growth and angiogenesis, notably vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs) and platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs).
