Overview
Irinotecan liposome (II) + adebrelimab + carboplatin is an investigational combination therapy being evaluated as a first-line treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). This regimen combines three distinct therapeutic modalities: a liposomal nanoparticle formulation of the topoisomerase I inhibitor irinotecan, the PD-L1-targeting monoclonal antibody adebrelimab (SHR-1316), and the platinum-based chemotherapy agent carboplatin. Irinotecan liposome (II) is designed to enhance drug delivery to tumor tissues while minimizing systemic toxicity. Adebrelimab, developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine, restores anti-tumor immune responses by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint. Carboplatin induces DNA damage through crosslinking. The combination is currently being studied in a Phase II trial sponsored by the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health.
