Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Irofan is an oral fixed-dose combination of ferrous ascorbate and folic acid developed and marketed by Apostle Remedies. It is formulated as a tablet and used as a nutritional supplement to treat and prevent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia, particularly during pregnancy or periods of nutritional inadequacy. Ferrous ascorbate provides a highly bioavailable form of elemental iron that is essential for the synthesis of haemoglobin and efficient oxygen transport. Folic acid (vitamin B9) is a crucial nutrient that supports red blood cell formation, DNA synthesis, and cellular repair, as well as the proper development of the fetal brain and spinal cord.
