Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IS-vac (Immune Stimulator vaccine) is an investigational adjuvant-based sham vaccine developed by the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). It consists of a 33% DMSO and isotonic saline solution emulsified in Montanide ISA 51 VG. In clinical trials, such as the Phase 2 STAR-VACC study, IS-vac is administered subcutaneously in combination with topical imiquimod (Aldara) as an active control/comparator (immune stimulator) against the IDH1-vac peptide vaccine in patients with newly diagnosed IDH1R132H-positive high-grade astrocytomas.
