Overview
Isatis Root Eye Drops is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) ophthalmic formulation derived from the root of *Isatis indigotica* Fort. (Radix Isatidis). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute bacterial conjunctivitis and other inflammatory ocular conditions. The extract contains a variety of bioactive compounds, including alkaloids such as indirubin and isatin, organic acids, and sulfur-containing compounds, which collectively provide broad-spectrum antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory activities. In clinical settings, it is evaluated both as a monotherapy and as an adjunctive treatment alongside conventional antibiotics like levofloxacin to improve clinical outcomes and accelerate the resolution of symptoms like conjunctival congestion and discharge.
