IsletRx is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy consisting of human stem cell-derived pancreatic islets (insulin-producing cells) developed by Kadimastem for the treatment of type 1 diabetes. The therapy is designed to replace the patient's destroyed beta cells, thereby restoring endogenous insulin production and physiological glycemic control. Kadimastem is advancing IsletRx both as a standalone cell product and in combination with immunomodulatory technologies to eliminate the need for lifelong systemic immunosuppression. Notable collaborations include a partnership with iTolerance to develop iTOL102 (IsletRx combined with an immunomodulatory microgel) and a co-development agreement with Defymed to encapsulate the cells within the MailPan bio-artificial pancreas device. Following a merger with NLS Pharmaceutics, the program is part of the NewcelX pipeline and is moving toward Phase I clinical trials.
