Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Iso-DM1 is a control antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) used as an isotype-matched control in preclinical research studies. It consists of an isotype (non-targeting) antibody conjugated to the cytotoxic payload **DM1 (maytansinoid)** via a **SMCC linker**. The compound lacks specificity for disease-related targets but retains the cytotoxic function of DM1, serving as a critical control to compare specificity and efficacy of targeted ADCs (for example, αCD37-DM1) in cell-based and animal model experiments. Iso-DM1 is not recognized as a therapeutic or investigational agent for any human disease and is used solely for laboratory research to assess the selectivity and off-target toxicity of the DM1 payload[5].
