Iso-mukaadial acetate is a drimane-type sesquiterpenoid natural product isolated from the ground stem bark of *Warburgia salutaris*. It has been investigated for its potential therapeutic applications in oncology, diabetes, and malaria. In cancer research, the compound has demonstrated cytotoxic activity and the induction of apoptosis in breast, pancreatic, and colon cancer models, although in vivo studies have noted potential toxicity and solubility challenges. In diabetes research, it has been shown to enhance glucose uptake in skeletal muscle cells, activate the AMPK and AKT pathways, and inhibit carbohydrate digestive enzymes. In malaria research, it has been shown to directly bind and inhibit *Plasmodium falciparum* hypoxanthine-guanine-xanthine phosphoribosyltransferase (PfHGXPRT) and disrupt the chaperone function of *Plasmodium falciparum* heat shock protein 90 (PfHsp90).
