Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Isoliensinine is a bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid extracted from the seed embryo of *Nelumbo nucifera*. It exhibits **antitumor**, **cardioprotective**, **antioxidant**, **antidepressant**, and **anti-HIV** effects, and can ameliorate type 2 diabetes with hyperlipidemia and Alzheimer's disease. It promotes autophagic death in cancer cells by activating the AMPK–TSC2–mTOR pathway and induces apoptosis in cervical and breast cancer cells. It also enhances cardiovascular protection by inhibiting coronary artery remodeling and has anti-inflammatory properties by reducing TNF-alpha and TGF-beta 1[1][2][3].
