Isomalto-oligosaccharide sulfate (IMOS) is a novel sulfated oligosaccharide small molecule drug being developed for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Structurally, it is composed of four sulfated isomaltose molecules with a molecular weight of less than 1500 Da. Developed by Herbon Polysaccharide Bio-tech, IMOS acts as a multi-pathway inhibitor that suppresses tumor growth and metastasis by down-regulating the ERK and JNK signaling pathways and reducing the expression of the c-MET protein. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that IMOS inhibits cancer cell proliferation, induces apoptosis, and impairs cell adhesion, migration, and invasiveness. It is structurally distinct from other sulfated oligosaccharide anticancer agents like PI-88 and is designed to target the tumor microenvironment and intracellular signaling independent of p53 status.
