Overview

The isoquinoline derivative is a small molecule therapeutic candidate developed by Zih Yuan Tang Biotechnology (ZIH) for the treatment of diabetic wound healing. This candidate is identified in USPTO Patent US 9,655,891 B1, which describes the use of isoquinoline alkaloids to promote the healing of chronic wounds in diabetic patients. Isoquinoline derivatives, such as berberine (which is highlighted in the patent examples), are known to exhibit anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and metabolic regulatory properties. In the context of diabetic ulcers, these compounds are intended to modulate the inflammatory microenvironment and stimulate cellular processes essential for tissue repair, such as cell migration and proliferation. The project is currently in the research and development phase at Zih Yuan Tang.
